Residence procedure

Obtaining legal residency in the United States is a fundamental step in ensuring your future and that of your family. Our team accompanies you at each stage of the process, either from the United States or from your country of origin.

RESIDENCES

There are two main ways to obtain permanent residence in the United States: through the adjustment of status, if you are already within the country, or through the consular process, if you are away. We explain both below.

Status adjustment

This procedure is ideal if you already reside in the United States and you want to adjust your immigration situation without leaving the country..

Status time

The residence process in the United States can take between 6 and 12 months. However, in many cases it is usually resolved in less than 6 months, although in certain specific processes it can last for several years, depending on the type of application (marriage, family reunification, employment, among others).

Consular process

This path is followed when the applicant is outside the United States. It involves coordination between different offices (USCIS and NVC) and culminates in a consular interview in the country of origin. Although it is a longer process, it can also be successful with the right accompaniment.

Time in consular process

It is important to have realistic expectations. The consular process can take up to 3 years, depending on factors such as consulate workload and USCIS response times. Our team will keep you informed all the way.
