Naturalization
Become an American citizen
It is the process by which a permanent resident becomes an American citizen.
People have a wrong idea of what this process is currently. Previously, USCIS immigration officers were very strict and even superb during interviews. Nowadays, USCIS officers are kind and respectful of applicants.
Gone are the times when officers wore blue uniforms and people fainted when they entered their interviews. The resident must consider becoming an American citizen to assert his rights but also very important so that they no longer play him.

Are you eligible?
Unfortunately, the statistics show that they are not naturalized by decision or lack of interest. After Donald Trump's arrival at the presidency of the United States, residents began to put their naturalization requests due to fear that they would deport them.
Investment and decision process
If the resident meets the aforementioned requirements, he must send an application N-400 for his naturalization, after five years of having obtained his residence.
Hay personas que no se animan a naturalizarse porque no hablan o escriben en inglés. Deben saber que esto no es un problema. La ley permite a los solicitantes realizar su examen en español bajo alguna de las siguientes condiciones:
- The resident must be over 50 years of age and 20 years old as a resident of the United States.
- If the resident is over 55 years of age, he must be only 15 years old as a resident.
- If the resident is over 65 years of age and over 20 years of resident, he will be able to take his exam in Spanish, he will also be allowed to take a simpler exam (20 questions instead of 100).
For all of the above cases, the applicant must present the evidence to support his situation.

Interview by USCIS
In addition, it is important to mention that the USCIS will request in the interview that the applicant demonstrates with sufficient evidence that he resided in the United States at the exposed time in order to be able to take the exam in Spanish. Some evidence that you may present are: documents that guarantee the purchase of any property, rent contract, receipts for services (biles), bank accounts, tax returns, work documents, school documents, etc.
Criminal record
Another reason why a resident is not naturalized is by having arrests. The law requests that the resident behave well during the five years before the request for naturalization. If you were arrested, it is important to review your criminal documents so you can determine if you are eligible or not. You have to be very careful with these cases because a criminal record can put a resident in deportation proceedings or even outside the United States.
